- Practice Description
- As a psychologist and marriage and family therapist I bring the unique perspective of each of these disciplines to my clinical experience which spans over 25 years. While trained in a variety of models, the overarching framework of my practice is contextual theory. The contextual orientation assists individuals, couples and families in examining issues of fairness in close relationships, in order to achieve more satisfying living. This model has been widely applied clinically, and I have taught it for over 15 years in graduate programs. Treatment may utilize individual, couple or family therapy. In my work I search for the untapped resources within each individual's relationship network. I also have developed a network of multi-disciplinary specialists with whom I collaborate to facilitate comprehensive services when needed. Concerns I have extensive experience with include emotional (anxiety, depression,bi-polar illness), behavioral (health, fertility, cancer related concerns, substance abuse, infidelity), relational: working with distressed couples (gay, lesbian and heterosexual), and families with children, and adults and their parents. My conviction arises not only from my professional training, but also from my own life and primary relationships.
